Desert roses have the sharpest thorns (Tag: Mulan)

They had traveled for days. The desert heat was crushing, like a ton of rocks, but sneakier. Like it would roast them alive cell by cell. Shan yu looked at his companion. "How are you holding up?" He asked Mulan. He looked at the sky, the sun would set soon, it would cool down then. They had already explored the ruins of the once great city of Agrabah, finding nothing. Now they were searching the close areas for any kind of cave or something to hide something so valuable.

Mulan sighed, As she brushed her hair out of her face. ''Depends..'' She gave him a weak smile. She bound her hair together. As they walked through the desert. It was unbelievable hot. She sat down. ''Let's rest..I'm boiling from the inside..'' She suggested as she looked at Shan Yu who seemed to also have so trouble with the heat.

He walked to her, covering her head from the sun with a cloth like he had done to himself long ago. "Drink some water. We can rest for a bit. Lets wait until night before we move again." He said sitting down beside her.

Mulan sighed. Glad he agreed to taking a break. ''Good idea.'' She kept the cloth above her head. As she looked down. ''Is the lamp real..? I'm starting to wonder if it isn't just all a myth..''

He sighed, wiping sweat from his forehead. "I believe it is. I listened stories from the refugees so much that I don't have any room for doubt." He took a sip of water from the canteen.

Mulan sighed. ''Yeah stories..'' As she let her hand go through the sand. As she felt something hard. She brushed away some sand. It was a bug like item. Like..Half of the bug..''Shan Yu..?''

He looked at her. His eyebrows knitting together as he looked at what she had found. "I think we are getting closer." He said smirking as he took the half of the bug from her. "We have to find the other part." He stood up, starting to kick the sand as he tried to find it.

Mulan smiled. Finally. She raised her eyebrow. ''Be careful You might kick the other half away.'' She crawled over the sand, Feeling if there was something.

He laughed. "Where would it go then? I can't kick things that far." He made his way to the other direction from Mulan. Gently kicking the sand with the tip of his boot.


Few hours later he had still to find anything. The sun was setting down on them. He had been going through the area with a thick comb. For something so small it was better. He was about to give up when he heard a clink. He smirked as he bent to pick the other half up. He stood up holding his hand high. "Found it!!" He moved back to the horses. He smirked at Mulan. "Ready?"

Mulan jumped up when he yelled. She frowned. ''Ehm...Yes..?'' She didn't know what those things were going to do in the first place. She walked to him. Rather unsure about the whole situation.

He connected the two pieces together. As soon as he had they spring to life and went around them before speeding off. "Folow them." Shan yu mounted his horse, running after the beetle.

They followed the beetle. Shan yu was trying to keep his horse going. The poor thing was too exhausted to run faster. To his relief the beetles stopped to a dune. They fell into half again, dotting the dune like eyes. To his surprise the dune grew into a tigers head. He was truly shocked, and it showed on his face for once. He tried to keep his horse still. He looked at Mulan who seemed to be as surrised as he was.

"Who wants to enter the cave of wonders?" The tiger asked. It took Shan yu some time to reply. "Shan yu... " He looked at Mulan. "And Mulan...." He looked back to the tiger. The tiger seemed to judge them. Shan yu waited patiently. "Proceed. You may not touch anything else than the lamp." The tiger opened it's mouth wide, letting them enter. Shan yu got off his horse, moving towards the entrance. He looked back at Mulan. If she wanted to come too he would not stop her, but he wouldn't blame her if she wanted to stay behind.

Mulan was surprised as she saw the big tiger head, Coming out of nowhere. And it spoke..Okay..That wasn't strange at all it seemed. She looked at Shan Yu, Oh yeah why not walk into the tigers mouth. That seems pretty safe. Mulan stepped towards Shan Yu. Entering the cave with him. ''This is crazy..'' She grinned. As they walked off a what seemed never ending stairs.

He laughed. "Only as crazy as you allow it to be." He said to her as they walked down the stairs.

When they reached the bottom of the stairs they walked to a room full of gold and treasures imaginable. He gasped. Anyone would gladly die for these treasures. He shook his head, grabbing Mulans hand in his as he continued forward. They were not touching anything else but the lamp.

After some time they finally found a way to the end of the cave. There was nothing there exept a high clif surrounded by water, and the top of the clif had a light shining upon it. He looked at Mulan. "Do you want to wait here?" He asked letting go of her hand before walking to the bank of the lake, jumping on ht first rock, then the second, moving all the way to the cliff. He started to climb up the stairs. When he reached the top there was a pedestal with the lamp on it. It was black. He took it, going back to Mulan. "Here it is." He handed it to her. "And you doubted it didn't exist." He laughed as he started to head back out of the cave.

Mulan felt again so protected when he took her hand. But also like he didn't really trust her to not touch anything. When she saw the more stairs again she was glad Shan Yu let go off her hand. When he came back with the lamp she widen her eyes. That..that was the lamp..And in there was a genie. In this thing..She could bring her father back to life with this thing..She couldn't believe it. As she held the lamp tight. As she walked out of the cave walking somewhat behind Shan Yu. When they got out of the cave she walked towards her horse. She put the lamp into her bag. She looked at Shan Yu.

What way should she go to..Just so Shan Yu couldn't follow her.

They walked out, the tiger head vanishing before thir eyes. Shan yu collected the two pieces of the beetle. Placing them one into his pocket and one in his bag. He got to his horse, offering it some water from the canteen, noting it was night now, and much cooler than in the day. "Shall we get going then?"

Mulan noticed Shan Yu wasn't paying much attention, Though inside she felt bad about what she was planning to do. Mulan slowly walked towards Shan Yu. She turned him around. Kissing his lips to get him more off guard. As she let her hands hold onto him. She let their lips stay together for some time before she pulled away. ''Nothing personal..'' She said as she headbutted him. Holding her own head as she saw Shan Yu fall down. She blinked. As she realised what she had done, she quickly went to her horse. Letting her horse run fast. She was so scared Shan Yu would follow her.

Shan yu was caught off guard by the kiss. It wasn't like her to just suddenly do this. When she headbutted him he fell down on the sand.



He woke up few hours later. He looked around. No sign of Mulan. His eyes narrowed in rage as he raised his two fists up in hte air and slammed them in the sand, making a bunch of it fly up. That made his horse a bit scared. He screamed in frustration. How could he have been so stupid? He tried to calm himself down. He would find her. He would most definately find her and make her pay. He gt on his horse following her tracks. He was a few hours behind her already, but he would surely catch her.
