The Careless and the Cold Minds

Thomas collapsed when he finally cleared the forest of Lexia.
However, he did not expect to see mountains next.
"Ugh, where am I?" He said to himself as he checked his already low supply of food.

Mulan sighed. She had lost Shan Yu again. Well not that it mattered. Even if she knew that she couldn't go without him she was still to stubborn. She didn't want to listen she didn't want help she just wanted to find the village. Kill the queen who had harmed Clopin and leave again. She didn't want to wait for Shan Yu. She wasn't going to wait for him. A voice suddenlt came from the distance. Mulan raised her eyebrow. She went towards the sound.

She raised her eyebrow. The figure seemed rather lost in his tracks. The poor thing. Mulan walked towards him. "Hey little red riding hood, did you lose the way?" She joked as she offered the person a hand to help him up.

Little red riding hood? Thomas stared dumbfounded before shaking away the question as a tease on his red hair and he decided to answer her.
"That, my happy life, and my common sense apparently."
He took her hand and stood.
"Thanks. Maybe you could also point me to where I should be heading?"

Mulan raised her eyebrow. "I doubt you lost your happy life." She rolled her eyes. Looking around. "Depends where you want to go to." She said.
"Either way, it is not wise to lose the way when you travel on your own." What was she saying? How many times had she not got lost.
Inside she sighed. Ah well.. It didn't matter so much right now.
Brushing through her hair she eyed the boy up and down. He didn't seem too much of a threat. But yet again.. Never underestimate others..

Thomas looked up at the woman and decided she wouldn't be someone to talk of happiness like Ariel.
But he did notice her scrutiny and defensive precautions were similar.
He sighed "Well, I just want to go where I can mindlessly live. Preferably a kingdom or somewhere in need of a worker. I can't offer much as far as security goes, but I can clean and run errands."
He looked in his sack and then at Mulan. "Think you can help me with that? I'm Thomas by the way."

Mulan looked at the boy. Offering himself to a kingdom. For services? He didn't really know
what kind of danger that could bring him did he? ''And what do you have to offer for the people at the kingdom? Magic..?''
She raised her eyebrow rather sarcastically. ''The name's Mulan.'' She offered him a hand to shake.
Hmm..What did her name matter anyway, If he was like Jim than she would know how to deal with him quickly.
Though he seemed okay..

"No. I can clean and run errands," Thomas repeated.
"And well, what do other people have to offer any kingdom? Their skills and service. I could make a good servant.. I think."
He tried to keep eye contact with her but soon failed to do so.
He really just wanted something simple to do until his life reached its end.

A man who is willing to clean? Well that was something she did not see very often. The guy was okay.
"Well.. I'm sure some castles would like a servant. You have any other skills besides cleaning?" She asked.
As she brushed through her hair.

Thomas shook his head sadly.
He never was any good at anything.
He could handle a gun but he was mediocre at his best.

Mulan raised her eyebrow. What kind of son was he that he could only clean?
Even she herself knew how to handle a sword, Not to mention her time in the army.
She put on a fake smile. "Oh come on I'm sure that is not true.. " She gave him a somewhat supporting pat on the shoudler.
Before she stepped away. "Me and my friend.." Was Shan Yu a friend..? Actually he was.. Mulan shook her head.
"Eh.. Me and the man that I'm traveling with could maybe use your help."

Thomas looked at Mulan and weighed his options.
One of the reasons he didn't stay in the rebel village was he didn't want to get too comfortable and gain any friends.
Now he faced the same predicament.
He had to think carefully but that wasn't easy.
Since everything started, he's just been a big blur going with the flow so careful is not his forte anymore..
"I won't give you false hope. I'm really useless. I'm not alert and I can't hold my own in a fight and I don't care to learn. What help could I possibly provide you?"
He knew he was probably making a mistake turning away this Mulan's offer before even getting directions from her on his own destination.
But again, thinking has been lost to him now.
Thomas has become a walking hazard.

Mulan grinned. ''Well I'm sure you'll be off use somehow.'' She smirked. As she looked around.
Where would they go now?''Atleast you could travel with us and when you are in a kingdom you like we can drop you there.''
Shrugging as she turned around to face him. Crossing her arms with her eyebrow raised, A mockingly grin painted on her lips.

"So I help you. You drop me off at a kingdom?"
Thomas twitched unsure of Mulan but decided to take the deal.
Where else would he go?
Not that he minded death but he'd rather not die up in the mountains.
"Ok..." He let out a sigh. "Sounds like a plan. How can I be of use to you, Miss Mulan?"

Mulan smirked. She scratched the back of her head. "Well eh.. First we need to find my travel partner."
She grinned. As she started walking. Motioning Thomas to walk with her.
" And don't call me miss." She stated as she continued.

"Yes... ma'am," Thomas mumbled as he trailed after her.
